DORTMUND VS SPURS PREVIEW

The first knockout stage of Champions League has finally arrived with its second leg moments away! Out of the 4 teams playing only 2 will go ahead. The tie that was supposed be thrilling one seems done and dusted in the first leg however if there is any team that could overcome the deficit of 3-0 are the German league leaders.

Borussia Dortmund were 1-0 down at Wembley and still very much in the tie until the 83rd minute when Jan Vertonghen doubled the spurs’ advantage with a stikers finish, and later on with Llorente scoring a third in the 86th. The German league leaders have played three games between the two legs of the champions league round of 16, drawing, winning and losing, apiece. They missed Paco Alcacer and Marco Reus in the first leg badly and have them in the starting XI tonight. With the young Englishman out on the wing, Sancho is a hot property right now and many eyes will be on him if Dortmund are to make any difference tonight. They have to show proper footballing character otherwise it will be a stroll in the park for Tottenham hotspur who have a three goal cushion.

Spurs have had a bad run of games in the domestic league, losing to Burnley and Chelsea away and drawing against Arsenal at home, that too by scoring a controversial penalty. The spurs boss, Pochettino has complained that they were given a whole less day to prepare than their german opponents tonight. Spurs will be looking for that away goal which will automatically ask for Dortmund to score five which would be a footballing miracle to see. The English side go in with a back three defense and a solid attack led by Harry Kane and H. Son, both of whom will be happy to regain form and keep up the good work from the first leg.

Is it going to be what everyone thinks it is going to be? Or does Marco Reus and company have a surprise for us in the bag? They’ll certainly need to avoid giving away an away goal to spurs if they are to do any damage and advance to the Quarter finals of this prestigious Cup.
